Life is unraveling

In moments

Quick bites

Walls seen a thousand times before

An overdose

Harsh word

Heart flutter

Taste our bitter loneliness

Our fucked up complacency

A soul rotting necrobiome

Children with unwiped tears

Atomic horizon speckled and on fire

Burn the fucking asphalt down to eternal toxic hell

We’ll wander below the crumbling overhang

Of everything we destroyed

Because they destroyed us first

She is preparing for death

Project, errand, a slow uncoiling of sorrow

Etching into her old bones

Love falls away in ashes

Let little by little through the cracks in ones fingers

Every sunset is a reminder of encroaching dark permanence

However many candles, lamps, incandescent are set out

And she is alone

Exhausted, terrified of questions that are already emphatically answered

Time is never a friend, less now more than ever

An ancestor, visiting on delicate wings of butterflies

Birds flitting small through the summer heat

Comfort fleeting

As she weeps solitary

Chipped tea dishes, for pleasure only

A deep sky with torn clouds at sunset

How I question and murmur

Alone in my body

Where the universe closes in

Terrifying in all its infinity

So I hold tight to your hand

Sing a song to pass the worry

Take a breath

Fill my eyes with my bounty

And continue on

For Us

A deep stirring

Shaken out from a nightmare

That we have lived

And lived over

We restlessly rise

Stretch our scars until they ache uncomfortably

Remembrance of each infliction

And how it bent and broke us

A reflection of historic wrongs in every way

We rise, and rise

For us
