Float (poem)

The rain stills my soul

There is a letter in my pocket

That I must send

It is burning holes

Tedious little circles

Of cauterized thread

The rain drums

I sink, eyes closed

Into its familiar sea

Of rythm

Letting the words float away

Like splinters of a shipwreck

The rain washes

A horizon of oblivion

A door to the sky

Deep and full of shadows

I pull it open, stepping into relief

Letting the words drift away in ashes
